Cleaning Up CRM 2011 E-mails

I needed to clean up our database a bit and devised a method to identify potential spam emails so I could flag them for deletion. Mind you, it still takes a review of the email subject lines but this is a great start.

I created an advanced find and saved it as a personal view to identify e-mails that are incoming, not sent by a CRM lead, contact or account with no regarding. Here’s what it looks like:

I can now use this advanced find as a basis to find different useless e-mails in the database, and flag them for deletion.  I can also use it to identify e-mails that need to be associated using ‘regarding’, such as e-mails that we’ve received from Microsoft  by checking to see if Microsoft.com is contained in the sender of the e-mail:

Let me know if this helps you!
