BIZITPRO moves website into Dynamics CRM based CMS

About three years ago, Business IT Professionals, Inc. revamped its website into a content management system (CMS) to manage the content as data rather than webpages. At the time, we chose a product called Expression Engine which is an open source-based tool that ran on the Linux stack. Over time, as we came to depend more and more upon CRM for running our business, we kept running into issues where we wanted to publicize events, our training classes, and free download offers.

When the new customer portal accelerator was announced in May, we began to review all the functionality provided by this accelerator. We found out that it does include a content management system or CMS that supported much of the functionality that we actually used in our current CMS system. The kicker for us was, that we would be able to directly interface our website to CRM and allow for greater productivity in publishing our events, classes, etc. It also allows us to create landing pages which capture information directly into CRM. It’s taken a while, but we have finally moved all of our content into this CRM hosted CMS system and were able to replicate the majority of our branding to maintain the existing touch and feel of our site. We also created a secondary website to demonstrate the functionality of other out-of-the-box portal functions, including the eService portal and Event portal .
