CRM 2011 Rollup 6 and SDK 5.0.9 Released but on ‘Hold’

Rollup 6 for CRM was released on Jan 12, 2012

Note that it was pulled back over the weekend but should be available again soon.

PLEASE NOTE:
A Microsoft CRM 2011 Client for Microsoft Outlook issue has surfaced, and the Update Rollup 6 packages for Client and Server are being temporarily removed from the Microsoft Download Center pending our investigation. Please hold off on downloading Update Rollup 6 until new packages are available.
If you have downloaded UR6 packages for any components, please discard them and wait for an update on our investigation and the release of new packages. If you have installed them, please note that the issue appears to be related to Outlook Client sync and prepare to install a newer build when it is available”

More on that here.

CRM 2011 Quote Mail Merge Template Spacing Tricks

A number of times I’ve received questions from users about how I got the spacing to work on my quote templates that were posted back in CRM 4.0. Shannon asked today if I do a quick video one and since that’s something I’m getting ready to do a lot of on the website I thought I better go ahead and do one for her.

Here’s a 3 min. video that shows exactly the trek that I used to get the spacing right between products and in the grid on the CRM quote.

Shannon:  hope this helps!

CRM 2011 SDK 5.0.8 Available

I meant to get to this sooner, but the latest SDK update 5.0.8 is available for download here.

I used the drivers to rebuild a CRM 2011 Customer Service portal recently and found them helpful. I found other drivers I needed in the recently released (Dec 2, 2011) “Customer Portal for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011” Version: 1.0.0013 here.

I was able to rebuild an xrm.cs file using CRMSvcUtil.exe for use by the portal for a CRM implementation using  Claims/IFD authentication.
